In this study, the effect of the amount of filler and different types of wood flour on the mechanical properties of polyethylene-palm wood flour composite obtained from annual pruning of palm tree was studied.

Different types of 60 and 75% by weight of, palm wood included: stems, leaves, and a mixture of stems and leaves. The composites were 45-45 and the maleic anhydride coupling agent – these fillers were made.

The particle size of 40 polyethylene mesh was added to 2% of the final weight of each board. Lightweight linear polyethylene was used as a control in this study.

First, the granular material was prepared from a mixture of palm wood and plastic by a two-screw extruder.

then the composite pellets were ground and the final boards were made by a hot press.

It was observed that with increasing the amount of filler, the mechanical properties, ie the modulus of rupture and tensile strength of the specimens decreased and the modulus of flexural elasticity increased.

Tensile strength values did not differ significantly in terms of material type performance.

The modulus of flexural elasticity of the boards made of leaf flour was significantly higher than the boards made of mixed flour and stem.

respectively, while there was no significant difference between the two treatments.

The modulus of rupture of boards made of mixed flour particles was higher than boards made of leaf flour particles.

but there was no significant difference between them, while there was a significant difference between the modulus of rupture of boards made of stem flour particles with the other two treatments.
